Sara Benincasa is an award-winning comedian, writer and radio talk show host. Her outspoken, sexually-charged comedy has won praise from the Chicago Tribune, CNN, The Guardian, and The New York Times, and has earned her an ECNY (Emerging Comedian of New York) Award and a Webby nomination. Sara is currently working on Agorafabulous for William Morrow (a division of Harper Collins), a book based on her critically acclaimed solo show about panic attacks and agoraphobia.

Sara was a citizen journalist for the 2008 MTV Choose or Lose Street Team, part of MTV’s 2008 Emmy Award-winning Think campaign. During the election, she created a splah with her original Sarah Palin vlogs on Huffington Post's humor site, 23/6 , a series for which she won an ECNY Award and was nominated for a Webby for best performance, alongside Isabella Rosellini.

From 2006-2008, she hosted Nerve.com’s hit "Tub Talk with Sara B.," a notorious web talk show in which she interviewed comedians and humor writers in her bathtub. Guests included humorist Andy Borowitz (BorowitzReport.com), current SNL writer John Mulaney, 2007 Andy Kauffman Award winning comedian Reggie Watts, author Jonathan Ames ("Bored to Death"), and a variety of other funny/smart/weird people. She has since revamped the show into the web series "Gettin' Wet with Sara Benincasa", and has interviewed guests such as Margaret Cho, Donald Glover, Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman.

Sara's one-woman show, "AGORAFABULOUS!" based on her experiences with panic-attacks and agoraphobia, has garnered positive reviews at festivals and one-night stands in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Boston, Charleston, and Chapel Hill, including LAFF (Ladies Are Funny Festival), WICF (Women in Comedy Festival) and the 2010 SF Sketchfest. This summer, she brought "AGORAFABULOUS!" to Oslo, where she was the only American invited to perform at the Fortellerfestivalen(Norwegian Storytelling Festival).

"Family Hour with Auntie Sara," her critically acclaimed live show, packs the house downstairs at Comix in NYC’s Meatpacking District. The New York Post named "Family Hour with Auntie Sara" one of the city’s best bets for alternative comedy. Sara has a degree in Creative Writing from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N.C. She has an M.A. in Secondary School Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. Currently, Sara hosts "Get in Bed," a hilarious sex-chat show on Cosmo radio, the world's #1 brand for women, every weeknight from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m ET (on Sirius 111/XM 162). She’s also working on a hilarious book about panic attacks and agoraphobia, due from William Morrow (a division of Harper Collins) in 2012.
